My family and I all had a blast tonight! This was our first experience attending an Arizona Diamondback’s game. Thank you Bob!

Although, I had an awesome night, I wish the Diamondbacks would of have won the game to top off my night, the score was 11 to 7.

In multiple occasions, I have been questioned by AREA viewers regarding my thoughts on proposition bill SB 1070 and the reason for my delay in uploading media footage, given I am an Arizona resident. First off, I will be quite honest with you all, I have not done so because this is an extremely emotional controversy in my state, which effects me in a personal level because I have personal friends who are undocumented. From a scholarly point of view, I have been taught to view arguments from all standing positions. Hence, I have observed an abundant amount of perspectives made by activists’, both in favor and against the bill. From my personal viewpoint, both parties have presented great statements, which leaves me with the conclusion.. somethings needs to occur in Arizona to fix illegal immigration. With that said, I am not declaring I am fore the bill, rather making a statement there has to be something done in Arizona in order for the immigration issue to be solved. As residents from Arizona, we cannot afford to waste additional time by ignoring the issue at hand. I have witnessed first hand effects of communities becoming broken apart because of this bill. I have noticed families moving out of the state, homes being abandoned, students from all grade levels withdrawing from educational institutions, friend, peers, and family members being placed into correctional facilities and later on deported, and of course, the one matter which sadness me the most, the tension and hatred risen by the controversy of this bill between those in favor and those against.

In summation, my final thoughts are… toss SB 1070 away and pass the DREAM ACT.

SUMMER JOB x INTERACTING WITH STUDENTS

Okay, so lately I have not been posting as much blog content as I usually care to. The prime reason for is because of the new summer job position I have gained through Arizona State University, office of Education Partnership. This job is amazing! I work with a loving and wonderful group of staff who are always extremely cheerful and humble. None the less, my job description consist of being a mentor and instructor for students k-8 from low income communities. To clear things up a bit, I am not responsible for the students the entire day, I am only in control of them after they have completed their daily summer class session with an actual ASU professor. In summation, I love my job and the students I work with. Today, since every student was in excellent behavior, I provided their evening with snacks and beverages, along with a movie free time, Scooby-Doo!

MANDATORY COURT SOPENA x NOVEMBER 2007

This past weekend I received a letter in the mail stating I must attend court under a judge’s request. The letter was none the less a sopena letter. The reason for the letter was for me to appear in court to testify against my friend Tito. Back in November of 2007, Tito and I were involved in police chase and ended up crashing into a light pole. Yeah, I know.. long story, I was young, things happen.. this is now. Furthermore, it was mandatory for me to show up at court and testify against my friend, or else I would be charge with an arrest warrant. Ah man, what a position to be held in right? In summation, I checked in with the judge to verify my attendance. However, turns out the two officers who had pulled us over that day informed the judge they do not remember what happen that day, hence it happen three years ago. Therefore, the judge dismissed the case, because there was no solid proof and did not call me up to testify. Few, what a day. For the being of the case being dismissed, my friend save about $4,700 worth in citation tickets!
