CRISIS NURSERY x CHRISMAST TOYS
For the past three years, I have been consistent in purchasing toys for the children at Crisis Nursery, a foster care home in Phoenix, Arizona. The toys I purchased are going to be Christmas gifts from Santa. This is something I enjoy doing. As cliche as it sounds, it definitely feels great to give back to the community; which is an important trait my mother taught me. Growing up, plenty of times, my single parent mother, at the time, did not have sufficient capital for us to be able to have a Christmas or celebrate a birthday, so it was places like churches and food banks which helped out in so many ways to make my Christmases and Birthdays a success. This is something I will never forget and forever will be thankful. With that said, I encourage you all, if you can, practice the act of giving back to the community. Do not do it necessarily because of my life story I shared with you, but because it will make a difference in a person’s life and create a smile. You can help out your community in multiple ways. You can donate toys, food, clothes, or if you are low on cash, you can also volunteer your time to help out. As long as your involve, you are making a difference, and that is what matters.
