TRIP TO NOGALES MEXICO x VISITING MANNY
This past Wednesday, a couple of friends and I, Chris (Spyda) and Jose (Taz), went to Nogales, Mexico to visit my brother and best friend Manny. As I have mentioned previously on a post from February, Manny was unfortunately deported while leaving my house after having dinner. Sadly, he has been living in Nogales ever since then, February. It is unfortunate he got deported a week prior to having his first born child and not being able to see him ever since. Another thing which stresses me is how in the world has Manny been able to find his way and find a place to live in Nogales? The day he got deported and was dropped off in Nogales Mexico at midnight, he was alone and it was the first time he had ever been in such place. Just imagine, being in a said to be corrupted town, the Mexican border, where one always hears tragic events occuring on the news and not knowing anybody to go to or a place to stay. Truly, God bless his soul.
Moreover, Wednesday I was given the opportunity to get a day off from my schooling and was able to set off to go visit him. The conditions in which he was living was poor. In fact, I have never in my life seen Manny the way I seen him that day. I will attempt to remain positive about his entire situation, but it is truly difficult. I do not know how he has managed to pulled his own weight given the circumstances he faces. I love him to death.
Upon arriving to Nogales, being our first time there as well, were able to find Manny’s residents by paying a taxi to direct us toward Manny’s home. Immediately after finding his house and seeing him waiting for us outside, I gave him a huge hug and handed him the clothes we brought him. This entire time, since he had been deported, he only had the same wardrobe he was wearing when he got deported and a couple of plain shirts he had purchased in Nogales. Poor dude, he had lost a massive amount of weight.
Shortly after, we left to find a place to get breakfast. With my luck, I got pulled over for stopping on the side of the road and asking two beautiful women where a restaurant near by was and having them get in my car to direct us. After a good half hour of disagreement with the officer, I was given two citations and was told to pay my ticket immediately (I threw the citation out the window, oops?). None the less, the two gorgeous women had left during the argument. However, we did find two different places where to eat, which consisted of delicious food. Afterward, we left to a barber shop close by to where Manny lives, a place of which he as been hanging out recently and has been getting taught how to cut hair. Next, we went to a Walmart in Mexico. Which was unlike any Walmart I have ever been to. This Walmart was two stories high, had a garage parking and escalators to get to the second floor. This Walmart had it going on, it even had great prices on alcohol! (I do not consent under age drinking). After our delightful purchase of goodies, we ended what was left of our evening and night at Manny’s apartment reminiscing on past memories.
All in all, it was a great full day. I had tons of fun and a blast hanging out with Manny. Everything seemed just right while we were with him. It almost seemed as if everything was back to normal. It is unfortunate he could not leave ‘home’ with us. I miss him to death! And I need him around. Things are simply not the same without him. I have faith one day he will be able to come back; he deserves it, he has been through a lot. Furthermore, I will head out to Chihuahua Mexico this weekend for my uncle’s wedding. Manny has told me he will be there as well. Cannot wait to him again!
